Product Area Director, Indo-Pacific Programs
Brenda Ortiz is a Product Area Director within the Land Warfare and Air Defense Mission Area focusing on the Indo-Pacific region. In this role, Brenda leads a team that provides the Indo-Pacific customers integrated air and missile defense, counter UAS, and proven precision long-range and combat weapon capabilities.
Prior to the merger between Raytheon Company and United Technologies Corporation, Brenda served as the Program Director for the Korea and Taiwan Integrated Air and Missile Defense programs where she was responsible for delivering air and missile defense solutions.
Previously, Brenda held various roles of increased responsibility including Capture Manager for the Qatar Air and Missile Defense Operations Center (ADOC), Program Manager for the Taiwan Surveillance Radar Program (SRP), Program and Capture Manager for SRP Follow-On Support and Exportability Program Manager.
Brenda joined Raytheon in 2001 as a Reliability and Maintainability Engineer. As an engineer Brenda supported numerous programs and customers including Patriot, Upgraded Early Warning Radar Programs and Cobra Dane. Some of Brenda’s engineering highlights include successful Maintainability Demonstrations with the end users, field data analysis to identify reliability improvements, requirements Verification and Validation as well as shaping long term sustainment strategies.
Brenda holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico and a Master’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts. Brenda also completed the Life Cycle Executive Leadership Program from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
In her spare time Brenda is an avid Cyclist (Mountain Biking, Road Cycling) and runner/ultra-runner. She also is a self-taught cook, specializing in Southwestern Cuisine.
