Silvina Salazar is Pacific Southwest Sales Performance and Support executive for Business Banking, one of Bank of America’s eight lines of business, which serves U.S.-based companies with annual revenues between $5 million and $50 million.
Her team’s efforts are focused on the research of new client acquisition and on existing client relationship deepening in addition to driving consistency, discipline and standardization in sales activity inspection, sales practices and operational risk management processes.
Prior to this role, she led the L&SS Business Controls Strategy and Support organization. She was responsible for enabling the Business Controls strategy, leading cross-functional change initiatives related to Quality Assurance, Operational Excellence and other Enterprise driven efforts.
Silvina has been with Bank of America for 31 years, five of which she was the GBS LATAM CAO based in Costa Rica. In that role, she was responsible for developing the growth strategy, risk management, building and managing the Bank operations in Guadalajara, Mexico and San Jose, Costa Rica to provide support to multiple processes and functions under one management structure in a global delivery matrix environment.
From a Diversity & Inclusion perspective, Silvina served as the National Leader for HOLA (Hispanic/Latino Organization for Leadership and Advancement), Bank of America’s Hispanic Employee Network for 9 years, building the network from 9 to 30 chapters across the US and to 7300 members. She has served as a steering Committee member of the GT&O Hispanic Latino Council, a founding member of the US Hispanic Latino Senior Leader Council and currently the Co-Executive Sponsor of the HOLA Silicon Valley Chapter as well as the Executive Sponsor for the Silicon Valley Hispanic Latino Business Council.
In 2014, she was recognized by Latina Style Inc. as one of the Top 10 Latina Executive of the Year, being the first to receive such recognition at Bank of America. In 2015 she was recognized as one of the top 100 San Francisco Business Times – Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business and in 2016 she was inducted as a Forever Influential Women in Bay Area Business.
In 2014 her leadership was recognized by the USHCC (US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce) awarding HOLA as the Top Hispanic Employee Network of the year and also by Latina Style Inc., naming HOLA as one of the Top 5 Employee Networks of the Year; the first time HOLA received an external recognition.
Since 2018, Silvina has been a mentor in the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women’s Mentoring Women in Business Program, supporting women entrepreneurs in Latin America.
She was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and earned her Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Business Administration at the UOP in Lima, Peru. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, with her husband and 2 sons.
